In the snow of January we met with Miriam for a portrait session. We started outside a small rural castle close to the place where I live.

It was freezing cold and shooting a portrait session was fairly new to all of us.

But still we had lot’s of fun !The next shot is technically out of focus – by far. I love this picture very much for the dreamy look as it proves my technical imperfection as much of the mood of the day.

A remotely triggered flash held by my wife added the highlight reflections in Miriam’s eyes and removed some of the already minimal shadows of that day.

After all, that’s my favourite picture of the day 😮 It does not only capture the harsh, cold winds under which we did the pictures, but the devotion of the one I love! Without her none of this would be possible.

Camera used was the Canon EOS 5d Mark I together with the remarkable 135mm f/2.0 lens.
